Mother's Day Afternoon

This afternoon only Sofia and I took a walk. She wanted to have mami-Sofia time, so Lionel got uninvited. And Bella did not want to come anyway.
In this house there is no celebration without cake, so the girls made a Mother's day cake. They got too ambitious though, trying to make a 4 layer cake, so it didn't turn out the way they wanted. They were disappointed for a while, but eventually got over it and even agreed to take a picture with it.

Mother's Day 2020

This year US Mother's Day is on the same day as Mexican Mother's Day. Unfortunately it is still during the pandemic, so while we went to visit my parents we kept our masks on to protect them. The pictures are not the same with the masks on, but the whole point of the pictures is to remember the way things are at a specific point in time. And this is part of the reality right now.
For breakfast Bella made us fruit Sushi. She probably could have cooked the rice a little longer, but it wasn't that bad. And she worked very hard to make it for us, so I appreciated it. We also did Facetime with Gabi, Raj, and the boys. And while the weather was cool, it was also sunny at times.

A Nice Saturday

This morning was cold, below 35 degrees, which was good running weather. I warmed up right away, so didn't really feel the cold, and ran 6.5 miles.
After lunch a friend of mine and her husband came to pick up some shelves we had in the playroom that we no longer used and were perfect for theirs. And since it was cold, but sunny, we actually sat in the patio for a few minutes to catch up.
Removing the shelves made room in the playroom to put a desk. And while I get a desk of my own I borrowed one of Bella's tables to move my monitor and my computer stuff down there. Being able to sit there and close the door will be great. Not just for me, but also for everybody else.

Home Schooling - Day 40

Fridayyyyyy!!
Since Bella really wanted to spend time with me I took the afternoon off. We did her cooking club together and painted rocks. Bella did not finish hers yet. Mine didn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but I did my best! Sofia mostly did homework and hung out at home. It was cold, but Lionel, Bella, and I did go on the family walk.
And now we rest. Let the weekend begin.

Home Schooling - Day 38

Today was mostly sunny, but cold. I could see the sunshine from my window while I worked. In the afternoon Bella brought me my gift of the day, the third from my Mother's Day Week. She made the flowers and put special messages on the sticks.
After work we went on our family walk. I brought my jacket, but got hot and took it off. I had to put it back on when we played tennis for a bit though, as it was definitely cold in the shade.
