Today we did heavy yard work at the Cincinnati house for one last time. I trimmed the bushes and the Ivy, and had some special helpers for a little while.
This is a blog about my random thoughts, my life as a wife and working mother, my happiness, my occasional sadness, and everything in between.

Tonight was Sofia's High School graduation, and it was great to see her getting there happy and confident, especially with a senior year full of up and downs. And, although she may not have shown us lots of external appreciation, I want to believe that having her family there was also important to her. It was certainly very important to us.
During the ceremony she realized that she actually graduated with honors, which she was happy about. It was listed as such in the program.
There were times at the start of the year that we didn't know how we would all survive until the end, so it was a truly special milestone to get there. Now on to her next stop and a fresh start. University of Colorado at Boulder, here she comes.

Today was my last day at the Cincinnati General Offices, the only P&G offices I have ever worked at. It was strange to walk out of there knowing I will not be back for a while. Thank you GO. It has been a good time. Take care of all my friends who are staying behind for now.

This evening, the family of one of Bella's best friends had a small gathering at their place to wish us well. It was happy and sad at the same time to see the girls together, having fun. They are a really great group of friends.

After lots of unexpected paperwork, and twists and turns, this morning we finally closed on our Boston house. Knowing our plant adventure, our real estate agent gave us a plant as a gift. Based on what the plant is supposed to symbolize, it was a thoughtful pick.

This morning I went to the office before we had to go close on the new house. It was around 6:30am and there was beautiful early morning light outside.

After coming back from my Warsaw work trip, Lionel and I rented an U-Haul to drive my plants to Boston. Unfortunately it looks like nobody transports plants, so we had to do it ourselves. Because of the distance, and because the U-Haul would not go faster than 75 miles per hour, the trip took us a full 14 hours. One one hand that sucked, because the truck was loud and not the most comfortable. But on the other hand it was the most peaceful time I had had in a while. No calls, no meetings, nothing else to do but to stare at the road and make slow, steady progress.
