A 6 mile run, a quick stop by Coffee Emporium, lots of yard work trimming bushes and removing weeds, pool time for Bella at her friend's house, and a little bit of quiet time in the patio at the end of the day. A day off well spent.
This is a blog about my random thoughts, my life as a wife and working mother, my happiness, my occasional sadness, and everything in between.

Today we finally had really nice weather, the type of weather that makes you want to stay outside all day long. I really wish it could stay like that for a while.

Tonight, after dinner, we stopped by Hyde Park square to get ice cream and sat in the little park for a few minutes. The fountain was looking quite pretty.

Today was the last day of school for Bella. Last day in 7th grade. Sofia ended earlier in the week. As I dropped her off I asked Bella if we could take a pretty photo and she said no, so this is the best I could do.

Today was the last lacrosse game of the year as the girls lost to Sycamore. Unfortunately Sofia did not play, so she was upset about both the loss and not having a chance to get on the field.

This morning it was a rainy, cloudy, gloomy sort of day. The type of day we have endured for months and months during the winter and I wish would finally go away. After walking the dogs I went to Kroger to buy some food for the week and made waffles for brunch. That kept me busy for a while. I then spent a good amount of time cleaning the house. I had to keep moving to try to keep my spirits up. It only half worked. The weather did improve in the late afternoon but I spent the whole day frumpy and looking exactly how I felt. Hoping for sunnier days ahead.

This evening I fell asleep on the couch for a few minutes. I didn't think Kika would let me but she did. When I woke up she was sleeping next to me. She was so peaceful that I almost didn't want to move.

Tonight the girls played against the Loveland Tigers and won 13-7. Sofia didn't get to play at all, but at least she was in good spirits. I later learned that it was an important win as it is the first time they make it that far.

While the regular season ended last week, tonight was the first game of the tournament that follows. Walnut won 11-0 against Anderson High School.

Lionel, Bella, and I worked on the yard today. It is always such hard work, especially when its hot like today, but it needed to be done. We trimmed the bushes that were invading the sidewalk and were also overgrown on the other side of the fence, cleaned the patio chairs and the table, and brought the umbrella back outside. There are still plenty of other things to do outside, but one step at the time.

The Hyde Park Farmers Market is back. Bella and I went and got eggs and bread. Not every merchant was there yet but there were plenty of families walking around.

Tonight was senior night at Walnut, so they had a little ceremony before the game started. Walnut Hills was a lot better than the other team, so the coach rotated everyone in and out and everyone got to play. Since Bella's season is over, and she no longer had practice or a game of her own, she also came along.

We went from freezing at every single lacrosse game, to burning up and me hiding behind an umbrella so I don't get a sunburn.
May 9,
This evening Bella and I practiced tossing the ball back and forth. It was a nice break after a day of work.

This afternoon I volunteered for a couple of hours at Cincy Cinco, the yearly Hispanic festival downtown. I normally don't go, but a couple of people from my team were volunteering and it seemed like the right thing to do. I am glad I did because they needed the help, and a couple of people who had committed to go did not show up.

This morning I came back from my morning run and Kika was all over me. It's like she thought I was on the floor just for her.

Today I was at a virtual event for Latinas at P&G for part of the day. During one of the sessions we were encouraged to think about and share what is our Superpower. I did not have to think. My Superpower is Resiliency - all the way.
