Today was officially my first day in the new job. Here I go!
This is a blog about my random thoughts, my life as a wife and working mother, my happiness, my occasional sadness, and everything in between.

This year Halloween was a complete blur. I even forgot it was Halloween night as I was working late, trying to close out my last official day on the job. But I was happy that Sofia sent us a photo of their group costume, and to see that she was having fun. Bella was also doing her own thing. And although we didn’t do anything together, I enjoyed looking back at the memories from the previous years.

While I was in Boston saying my goodbyes I missed my dad’s birthday, so was glad to see that my parents celebrated it, even if all by themselves.

As I left the Boston Village, I got some really generous and sentimental gifts. I got a massage certificate for a place in Cincinnati, another gift certificate for Coffee Emporium, and a series of things to remember my 2 years in Boston and with the team.

This week I enjoyed my walks to and from the office and drinks with friends before it was time to say goodbye to Boston, my job, and work life like I had known it for the past 3 years. The Boston IT Village had a goodbye lunch for me, and the supply chain leadership team gave me my Crystal award, a tradition for everyone who moves on. The award has the 3 words that repeat the most when the team thinks about you. Mine were collaborative, Positive, and Passionate.
Cheryl, Pete and I, who shared the same desk area, also took our very last selfie.
It was really hard to say goodbye, and even harder to keep it together, but this afternoon I left the office for the very last time. Whether I like it or not, that’s a wrap!

In what ended up being our last ladies trip for now, Cheryl and I spent a long weekend in Virginia. This was the trip for two I had purchased last fall in support of the United Way. And a donation from someone at work who has a farm house there, with a guest house where Cheryl and I stayed.
It was a typical fall weather weekend and we used the time to go see the University of Virginia, visit Monticello (very sad when you think of everything that happened there), hike, and go check out a few wineries. I also bought my very first second hand item, a green jacket that I saw and liked before I even realized it was second hand.
We also tried to watch a polo match but that was a fail, as it was taking way too long to start and we just left. That was the last day. And although the last day was a bit slow, it was nice to get away. Especially before coming back for the end.

This is my last work trip to Boston, and I am doing my best to squeeze in as many activities before I leave, to remember the good times. I participated in the Pics with Pats event in the office, met with a bunch of people, and went out with a few friends to celebrate my birthday again. We went to Lincoln Tavern, one of the places I am going to miss.

This evening we hosted a party at home, both to celebrate my birthday and as a housewarming party. But first, we did our normal morning walk with the Kicks and I showed Gabi our walk by the river.
I knew we would be too distracted to take photos once the party started, so we took a single photo before everyone started to show up.

I spent my birthday in the office, in an all day meeting with my new boss and my new team. She got cupcakes to celebrate my birthday, which was a nice gesture. I then got to go home to celebrate with my family, and we went out to J Alexanders, our favorite, for dinner.
My sister came from Baltimore, which made me happy. It had been a while since my parents, my sister, and I were together for my birthday. Or maybe even for anyone’s birthday.
