Today we didn't sit around doing nothing, but somehow ended up with no pictures. I guess we took it easy the first part of the day. In the evening Lionel and I went out for a nice dinner at Red Feather, and then stopped by a neighbor's house for a little while for a Christmas party. I wasn't necessarily dying to go, but they are one of the few friendly people around here. So it felt like we should. Of course in the short time we were there we heard drama about a couple that recently divorced, which reminded me of why I certainly do not love this neighborhood. Too much drama, too many standoffish people, and not worth spending any time trying to belong.

Lunch and Museum Center

Today we went out for lunch and then to Museum Center, which was in our Winter Break bucket list. For lunch we went back to Maplewood, which was really good. The wait wasn't bad and everybody liked what they got. But Museum Center was a different story. We knew there was construction, which has been going on for a while, but the Christmas display was supposed to be open and that is what we wanted to see. The display was open indeed, but it wasn't even half the size that it usually is - and it wasn't cheap. So we quickly found ourselves saying "That is it?!?". After about 30-40 minutes tops we were back out, heading home. We were not particularly happy about paying for such a small display, but I guess we will consider it a charitable contribution. I am sure Museum Center will look great once all the construction is over - whether or not we get to enjoy it.

Good bye now

Today I had lunch with a good friend of mine from work. It was our last lunch in I don't know how long. He and his family are moving to San Francisco, and I am really excited for them because that is exactly where they want to be. But I will for sure miss them around here.

Mami-Bella Day Part 2

This afternoon was Mami-Bella Day Part 2. We almost didn't have it, since Sofia wasn't feeling well, but luckily she felt better after a nap. We dropped her off at a party with her school friends, and Bella and I went to the pottery store to paint. She was so disappointed that they were closed on Monday that I was really happy we were able to go today. After that she asked to go to Panera for a snack, so we did. I actually gave her the option to go to Panera or Starbucks, which she also likes, but she decided to stick with Panera this time around.

Khron Conservatory

One of the things I really like doing over Christmas break is going to the Khron conservatory to see their Holidays exhibit. The good news is that this morning we made it there. The bad news is that Sofia got a sudden massive headache and we had to leave about 10 minutes after getting there. I was quite disappointed of course, but at least I had already taken a few pictures - including some of the new Fiona addition.

Mami-Fifi Day

Today was Mami-Fifi day, and it was quite a full day. After dropping Bella off at my parent's house we headed to the mall to walk around for a bit, had lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe, and headed to our next stop: A relaxing massage. Well, at least Sofia's was. Mine was a deep tissue massage, which I desperately needed but is not always fun. At least I was off my feet, which was great since walking around at the mall kicked my butt.
After our massage we did some more walking around and shopping, and even stopped by the Yagoot store before heading back to my parent's to pick Bella up. And the day was not over yet! Mami-Fifi day was over, but I still had to take Bella to her rehearsal for Alice in Wonderland.

Today was Mami-Bella day - Part 1. I had a couple of work calls in the morning, the very last ones before going on vacation, so we could only do Mami-Bella day in the afternoon. But she was Ok with that because she really wanted to make sure her day with me was before Sofia's - since apparently last year Sofia's was first. Our plan was to do a half day today and the other half on Wednesday.
Our first stop was Michaels to buy materials for Christmas gifts. Then, for lunch, she wanted to do Panera. She also wanted to go paint pottery, but unfortunately the place was closed on Mondays. Instead we went to TJMaxx to walk around and almost went to the movies, but she changed her mind and we headed home instead. There the girls started working on the Christmas gifts before we headed back out for Bella's guitar lesson, which was pretty much the end of our day.
