This afternoon we went to Yagoot to get some frozen yogurt. We have been going there for years, since we only had Sofia and she was probably about Bella's age. We like that place. One of these days, when I have time, I am going to try to find the oldest picture I have from there.
This is a blog about my random thoughts, my life as a wife and working mother, my happiness, my occasional sadness, and everything in between.

It's hot outside
Over the last few days the temperature increased a lot. Zoey, who of course has a lot of hair, gets really, really hot. But as it turns out, she has discovered the air conditioner vents and sits by them to cool off when she comes from outside.
Practice makes perfect
Today Sofia practiced riding her new bike with Lionel, and Bella practiced riding her scooter. Poor Bella, she fell a few times. But she was a trooper, and got up every single time.

Zidane
Today we went to visit our Zidane. He is still getting treatment for his ear and is improving surely but slowly, so he still can't come home with us. At least he is now allowed to go to doggy daycare with the other dogs, so he doesn't have to spend his days by himself.
Zoey
Zoey loves playing with me, which is kind of inconvenient when I am trying to work from home. She keeps bringing me her nasty, full of saliva toy over and over, and putting it right next to my keyboard. She also pushes the screen and puts her mouth right next to it, and moves my arm until I start petting her head. She is high maintenance that one. It is a good thing I really like her, and despite her crazy ways I am happy to keep her around.
The walk
Yesterday morning I walked Sofia to school. We never have time to do it because after dropping her off I have to head straight to work, but being a Friday- and since Lionel had already taken Bella to daycare - I decided we could afford that little luxury. I feel bad that we don't get to do it more often, especially because Sofia has at least one classmate who we see walking to school with BOTH her parents every day. But I don't really know what their situation is, so I try not to compare ourselves with them.
Cinco with an "S"
For some odd reason, many people in the US believe that May 5 is Mexico's Independence day. It is really not, but I don't think it matters that much to them. They like to celebrate it nonetheless. So every year the kids come back from school with some craft related to it, and this year was no exception. Sofia came back with a "maraca" she made out of two paper plates and a few dry beans. Unfortunately she also decorated it by writing what - in my eyes, and the eyes of any native Spanish speaker - was a terrible grammar mistake. I know she meant well, but seriously girl?!?
