Vail - Day 1

On Wednesday afternoon we arrived in Vail after an almost three hour flight from Cincinnati to Denver, and an almost three hour ride from the airport to the hotel.

As usual, after checking in at the hotel we spent the rest of the afternoon getting our rental equipment, our lift tickets, and signing the girls up for ski school. While getting our lift tickets we saw the biggest and most beautiful Husky ever. I would have taken him home. We then walked around for a little bit, had dinner, and went back to our room. We were all tired, but I think I was the most exhausted of them all. I had gone to bed particularly late all week, trying to get as much work done as possible, so my eyes felt heavy and my body needed to just crash in bed.

I didn't even see at what time I fell asleep, but Lionel swears it was before 9:00 pm. I was so tired that I don't think I even said good night. I was out!

Level 2

Finally, after much anticipation and previous disappointment, Sofia made it to level 2 in gymnastics. Let's just hope the excitement won't wear off once she realizes that just means things will get harder and harder.

Target

We were at target couple days ago, and the girls randomly asked me to take a picture of them. They like the red, and the circle in front of it.

Doctor visit

Last week I called the doctor to ask for confirmation that the girls have all their vaccines. I just got worried given the measles outbreak, so I thought I'd confirm that we never missed any of them. They promptly confirmed the girls are up to date with their shots, but also reminded me it had been a while since they had been in for a physical. So we scheduled them right away and I took them in Friday afternoon. While we waited they pretended that Sofia was the doctor and Bella was the patient.

Adrian's Baptism

Today was Adrian's baptism, which we celebrated as a family and with a few close friends. And even though my mom was not at 100%, it was great to see that she made it to church. It just wouldn't have been the same without her! Oh, and did I mention that Lionel and I are the Godparents again? Yes, that cutie is in good hands.

Cold at the park

Yesterday afternoon the girls decided they wanted to go to the park for a little bit, since it wasn't as cold as it has been. It was still pretty cold for me, and I have particularly disliked the winter this year, but I took them because they deserved to run around and enjoy the fresh air a bit.

Abuelita's Birthday

Last Sunday was my mom's birthday, and even though we had a challenging week before, and knew we would have a challenging week after, we went out to celebrate as it should be: As a family. I also made her a cake, in the shape of a heart, and decorated it with just a bit of powder sugar since my mom doesn't like sweets all that much. I just wanted to do something special for her.
