Today we got up late, took it easy, and finally left the house at around 10:30 to have brunch at a Mexican restaurant. The food was good, but Sofia literally can't handle ANY spices. So we struggled a bit finding something she could eat. After brunch we were really full, even though it didn't feel like we ate that much, so it was a good thing that after that we had plans to walk around.
This is a blog about my random thoughts, my life as a wife and working mother, my happiness, my occasional sadness, and everything in between.

Spring Break - Day 5 - The evening
Mar 31,
After resting for not really that long, we headed back out for dinner. We went to a restaurant that has been around since 1856. It is a touristy place, so I thought the food would be Ok, but it was actually pretty good. The girls entertained themselves asking us "would you rather?" questions, so Lionel and I also asked a few questions of our own. I asked if they would rather both mami and daddy to keep working, so we can do all the fun things that we do, or have one of us stay home. Bella didn't even have to think about it for one second. Her answer was "Both working, because otherwise you would be all over our business". That girl!
Spring Break - Day 5 - Museums!
Mar 31,
This morning we started our day with breakfast at Panera, which is pretty close to our hotel. And yet, we still got kind of drenched because it was raining so hard. We had umbrellas, so that helped, but the bottom of Sofia's jeans and hers and Lionel's tennis shoes were completely wet.
After breakfast we took an Uber to the National Air and Space museum, which was the best decision ever. That would have been a long and miserable walk otherwise. At first glance the museum didn't seem that big, but we spent over 3 hours there. By then we were all starving, since it was way past lunch time, but the food court area was crazy packed and only had bad options anyway. So we walked to a nearby salad place. After that we thought the girls would be done, but they still had some energy left to go to the American History museum. They closed at 5:30, so we only had about 90 minutes left, but at least we got to see a First Ladies and Presidential exhibit. After that they were really done, and Sofia's foot was hurting, so we finally headed back to the hotel. It was a full day!
Spring Break - Day 4 - Fish!
Mar 30,
After resting for a while we went back out only for dinner, to a restaurant a couple of blocks away. It was a fish restaurant, and as an appetizer Lionel ordered some oysters. Those are not my cup of tea by any means, but the girls wanted to try them and actually liked them!
It was a good dinner, and we enjoyed it, but I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel and just call it a day!
Spring Break- Day 4 - Hello Washington
Mar 30,
This morning we got up early, very early, to catch our 6:30 flight to DC. We actually flew into Baltimore, and had to take a train and the subway to get to our hotel. Since we got here early I fully expected to have to leave our luggage with the concierge for a few hours, but surprisingly our room was ready.
After resting for a little bit, and even taking a short nap, we all got ready and walked to the National mall. In fact, we walked and walked and walked for the better part of 3.5 hours. It would seem that everything around here is close, and you can get to it in a couple of hours, but not so much.
