Last night was Swim Meet #2 and it was at our pool, which is a lot more convenient than when we have to go somewhere else. The girls did well, we are getting the hang of it, and the weather was Ok.

Last night was Swim Meet #2 and it was at our pool, which is a lot more convenient than when we have to go somewhere else. The girls did well, we are getting the hang of it, and the weather was Ok.

Lulu was in town!

Lulu, my best friend from high school, was in town this week. Although we stay in touch, we hadn't seen each other in years - since the last time she came to visit. It was somewhat of a surprise visit - not something we planned for weeks and weeks - but it worked out well. Gabi and I went to Indianapolis to pick her up, and she spent about a day and a half in Cincinnati with me. We had a good time, and I was happy that she got to see the new house, how much the downtown has changed since the last time she came, and the kids.

This afternoon we had a fun time at the pool. Gabi, Raj, and the kids came over too, but couldn't stay long because Adrian didn't like the water and Tio's skin is now sensitive, so he was in danger of getting a sunburn. But we stayed for a while, and everybody got fun with the giant inflatables they apparently bring only once per year.

Radishes

Today we harvested radishes from our vegetable garden, one of the first things that grew in it this year.

New toys

After our morning walk/run, as we were driving back home, we drove by a garage sale that had a pink Barbie jeep. I always wanted to get something like that for the girls, but since our previous street was so steep, it just wouldn't have worked. So we turned around to check it out, and it came home with us.
It then turned out that a neighbor who is moving away was selling two kids bikes, which was perfect because Sofia''s bike was starting to get too small for her. We went to check them out and bought them, and as it turns out the one I bought for Sofia is a really nice, expensive brand. So we got a good deal on it, and it was great to see her happily riding it around.

This morning the girls came along with me for a morning run/walk. Bella wasn't so sure about it, but the promise of play time at the park afterward kept her going. In fact, she ended up doing much better as Sofifi got tired first. It was a beautiful morning to be outside. We did 2.5 miles, and then the girls played in the part for a little while before we headed back.

Recess at the stadium

This morning we went to the Bengal's stadium for an event called "Recess at the stadium". Apparently it happens every year, but we just learned about. It is basically a free community event where the kids can go in and play. They also had what I would call a "healthy choices" theme, since they had different stations to educate the kids (and parents alike) about good and bad stuff to do and eat. The girls enjoyed it, and as such so did we.
