August

Aug 31,

August was a great start of the school year for Bella, with seniors traditions, home games, and lots of social time.

Cincinnati Open

Aug 23,

For one reason or another Lionel and I have missed the tennis tournament the last few years, but this year we finally made it back. We went the day of the finals. It was really hot at the beginning, but as the sun started going down it became less hot and oppressive. And by the time we left, we also captured the nice sunset.

Last First Day of Class

Aug 20,

Today was Sofia’s first day of class, also her senior year, and she surprised me by sending us this photo. She and one of her roommates made the sign. I loved it, and it warmed my heart as this was always our tradition. Plus I loved seeing that smile.

First Day of Senior Year

Aug 19,

And just like that, her summer is over and today was Bella’s first day as a senior. She had a pretty good junior year, and fingers crossed she finishes her High School finish line on a happy and positive note. I wish that with all my heart.

25th Anniversary

Aug 18,

Today was our 25th Anniversary! After the last few years we are just happy that the girls are happy, so we didn’t need some big celebration. Just grateful to still like each other and that our girls are okay. We did give ourselves a nice dinner at Colette in OTR, which did not disappoint. Here goes to hopefully many more.

Senior!

Aug 15,

The senior traditions are starting. Bella did not want to participate in this one, because it is new and she said “it is not a thing”, but Lionel and I were not having it. We came back so she could be part of and enjoy the high school traditions, and there was no reason to skip this one.

The final product

I love how my plate turned out. It is so cute.

Summer Vacation - Day 11 - Last Day

Aug 2,

Today we just had lunch with Sofia, said good bye, drove around for a little bit to see some neighborhoods, and headed back to the airport.

Summer Vacation - Day 10 - Moving Day

Aug 1,

This morning we walked on Pearl Street for about an hour before we met Sofia to help move all her stuff from the apartment to her new house. It was still super hot. We didn’t need to rent a U-Haul as we were able to load most of her stuff in between her car and the rental one. And for the couch and the mattress, Lionel got help from one of her roommate’s dads. They had a truck and a trailer, so they were able to move the big stuff. Sofia was stressed out with the move, so there was never a good time to take a photo with her. Instead, we just took one as we finished helping and these proud helpers were leaving to head back to our hotel.

Summer Vacation - Day 9 - Boulder!

Jul 31,

Today we finally made it to Boulder to see our girl and her new house. It was really, really hot. We moved a few things, but most of the move will be tomorrow. We did go out for dinner and Sofia said this picture of a fox reminded her of me when I laugh, so we gave it try side by side.
