Day 35 - Reds game

This afternoon we went to the reds game, which also happened to be Bella's very first reds game ever. Since she is not a sit-peacefully-in-your-seat-and-watch-anything-for-more-than-a-few-minutes type of girl, we had been waiting for the right moment to take her. But who really knows what the right time is for that, so today we just went with it. Since we did several of the kids activities she did well for the most part, but of course in between eating, doing the activities, etc, we probably only watched half the game - if that. And even then, towards the last couple innings she was ready to go so I had to break down and give her my phone to entertain her.

Sofia, on the other hand, was right in her element. She was proud to show Bella around - since she has been there with Lionel several times - and enjoyed going in the batting cage where she actually hit the ball couple times. Lionel also gave it a try.

After the game Lionel went to buy food for the week, since we hadn't even done that, and the girls and I went to pay a quick visit to my parents, since we hadn't seen them all week. And that was that for the 4th of July weekend. We kept pretty busy the entire time, and now we need to rest and recover from it.

Day 34 - Neighborhood Independence Day Parade

Yesterday morning Bella and I went to the neighborhood independence day parade, which was for kids. Sofia didn't want to go, so I just picked her up afterward to go to tennis class. In the afternoon we went to a friend's house to watch the Costa Rica-Netherlands world cup game, and we closed the day with dinner at an Italian restaurant. After that we just went home to rest, as we were all pretty tired from the day.

Day 33 - 4th of July Pool Party

Today we had another pool party, and the girls had a blast. My work friends were super nice to them, and played with them for a while. By the time we left they were completely exhausted, so Bella passed out in the car. Sofia and I took a nap when we got home, and after a quick shower we went out for dinner. We also wanted to go see some fireworks, and Bella was totally up for it, but Sofia was still exhausted so we came home instead and called it a day.

Day 33 - Morning run

This morning I ran outside for the very first time since the flying pig in early May. I meant to run only 3 miles, but went too far and ended up running 5. Even though I have been running on the treadmill, running outside is definitely not the same. So I struggled, and even decided to walk couple times. At least I finished though.

Day 32 - Home day

Since I was driving on a spare tire - which AAA installed early this morning - today we only went to swim lessons and stayed home the rest of the day. Since we were here, and the girls were busy hosting a playdate, I continued with my cleaning efforts. I started cleaning the bookshelf in the office, and here again I found some random stuff including the description of my very first job, some life advice, and grade cards from when I was a kid ... With all good grades of course!

Day 31 - Flat tire

Tonight I got a flat tire as I was driving to a friend's house to carpool to a local movie theater, so I had to turn around and drive back home. I was really annoyed about it because that will mess up tomorrow's entire morning routine - one I had carefully planned - but I quickly made myself snap out of it. Yes, it is an inconvenience, but at least it didn't happen while I was on the highway and I made it back home safely. And yes, I will have to deal with it, but quite frankly I am lucky I even have a car to deal with - a luxury many people will not have in their lifetime. So we will have a chaotic morning, but it is all  good. I am sure of that - no calm down jar required.
