This weekend Lionel, Sofia, and I went to visit Notre Dame. It is a 3.5 hour drive from home. I had zero expectations but was definitely pleasantly surprised. It is not easy to get in, and is definitely not cheap either, but looks like it would be a good environment for Sofia. Not too big, but not too small. Great academics, personalized attention, lots of study abroad opportunities, more diverse than I thought, lots of green open space, great facilities, big enough but still easy to walk everywhere, and heavy focus on community.
