Weekend in Tokyo

Jun 8,

After coming back from Boulder I had to head to Asia for work. Since my itinerary had me going through Tokyo, I decided to spend the weekend there before taking the final flight to Manila. It hadn’t even occurred to me to do that, but someone from my team suggested it and we did it together.

Together we figured out the subway and went all over the place. We did a mix of modern and traditional Tokyo. The subway was the cleanest and most quiet and organized ever, and we always felt safe whenever we went. For Modern Tokyo we went to a place called TeamLab Planets, we saw the Shibuya crossing, went to Tokyo Tower, and the Toyosu Market. For traditional Tokyo we went to the Koishikawa Korakuen gardens, Asakusa, the Nezu Shrine, and a few other places along the way.

I enjoyed Tokyo and it was a growth weekend for me as I navigated the trains and made it to my hotel all by myself, and became our navigator in the subway. Oh, and also ate mostly with chopsticks.
