This afternoon we visited our friends to meet their newborn baby. He was so cute! Lionel and I had forgotten what it's like to hold such a little one. Even Sofia really wanted to hold him. Bella was the only one who didn't really care. She was busy playing with his older sister.

This morning Bella made me breakfast in bed. All by herself. How sweet is that? She also sat down and made up a song for me on her guitar.

Since during the week we didn't really have time to properly celebrate my mom's birthday, tonight my sister and I took her out for dinner. No husbands, no kids. Just us. We rarely have the time to just sit down, talk and catch up, so it was a nice to be able to do so for a change.

This morning Sofia and I went all the way up to Lebanon for a photo session with a photographer recommended by one of my work friends. The reason we went is that the photographer is doing a project for kids around Sofia's age: Not quite teenagers, but no longer young kids either. The idea is to capture them before they turn into full teenagers, and try to capture also their personalities. For Sofia's photos we took some art supplies, books, and her piano books.
After the photos we were going to have lunch around there, to make it a full Sofia-mami morning, but Sofia decided that she wanted to come back home after all. I think she missed Lionel and Bella, and besides she always feels more comfortable in her own
surroundings.

I started the day today with a 6 mile morning run. The sun was just coming out when I left the house, and it was cold, but luckily that didn't stop me. It was a great way to start the day and the weekend.

This year Abuelita's birthday fell on a Wednesday. Since it was in the middle of the work and school week we had to celebrate in a rush, but we still made time to wish her Happy Birthday and give her our gifts.

Tonight we went to our friends' house for a belated Rosca celebration. As always there was great food, everybody was very welcoming, and the home made roscas were delicious.
