Sofia in Switzerland!

Feb 28,

This weekend, while we were in Vail, Sofia went to Zermatt with some of her friends. She said it was beautiful, and had a great time, but also that she was definitely jealous of all the people with their skiing gear.

Officially 20!

Feb 24,

Today I got my celebratory “20” from my new manager, and went out for lunch to celebrate with some of my best friends from work. My friend Cheryl was supposed to come from Boston, but thanks to the blizzard over the weekend she was not able to make it. But we’ll have to celebrate at the end of next month, when I come to visit.

My 20th Anniversary!

Feb 21,

Today is my 20th Anniversary with P&G. It is easier said than done. There have been a lot of great experiences and memories, but also a heck of a lot of long days and really hard work.

Ahead of the weekend, my new team sent me a bunch of nice messages. A few of those below.

There were times particularly in the last 6 months when I thought I would never make it here, so I am really celebrating it.

Lunch

Feb 21,

Abuelita wanted to try the Chinese restaurant right in the corner of Madison and Observatory, so we went.

Sofia in Valencia!

Feb 21,

For this weekend Sofia didn’t send us photos of herself, but she did send us these ones. She went with her friend Sam from high school. They had great weather and a great time.

School Visits

Feb 10,

I came back from Poland on Friday night, and on Sunday morning we flew to Atlanta for our first school visits trip. It was the three of us plus Bella’s friend Kaitlin and her mom. The weather was much warmer than at home, which was a nice treat. It was a packed couple of days though, with lots of driving and 3 schools to see.

We first stopped by a town the girls really wanted to see, where they filmed a show called the Vampire Diaries a few years ago. As it turns out, it appears it is the same place where they filmed the Dukes of Hazard a few decades before.

We first saw the University of Georgia, which Bella really liked. I liked it too, but Lionel wasn’t a huge fan of the campus. I guess he thought it was hilly and too much of a mix and match. We then saw Auburn, which Lionel liked but Bella and I did not. Too much concrete and it felt too packed. And last, but not least, we visited my friend Cheryl’s alma mater, the University of Alabama. I wasn’t sure what to expect, since my friend says a lot of nice things but she is clearly biased, but it is a nice campus. They did a great job with the tour, and the dorms look great. It was also the only school that actually allowed you to tour the dorms.

It was an exhausting couple of days, but it was a good visit as it allowed Bella to see all 3 schools.
