Nashville Day 1

Today we drove down to Nashville to see our friends Kate and Miguel who moved here last year for work. After arriving and settling down for a little bit we went downtown. Since it was the weekend, especially a holiday one, it was quite crowded. We went to a couple of bars where they had people singing, since down here kids can go to bars before 6:00 pm. We were there only for a few minutes, and also went to a candy store that clearly sparked the kids' interest very much. We then went to check out the food trucks, all lined up in one street since there was a music festival, and had dinner there. By then the kids were tired, so we headed back to our friends' house.

Spa day!

Today the girls gave me the best gift ever. They wanted to pamper me, since I work so hard at work and the house, so they put together a Spay day. They thought about a lot of little details, including the invitation, the different activities, and even their white matching outfits. It was incredibly sweet. I loved every moment of it.

Bella made a copy of the cover of the book "I'm the best", and asked me to take a picture of it. She actually did a pretty good job with it, if I may say so myself.

15th Wedding Anniversary!

Time flies, and today was already our 15th Wedding Anniversary. Since it was the middle of the week we didn't go to crazy will the celebrations. Besides, the Europe trip was our gift to each other. But we did go out for dinner, just the two of us, and spent quality time enjoying each other's company and talking about the future. 

Back to school

And just like that, today the girls went back to school. For the first time ever the weather was not sunny and nice on their first day back. It was cloudy and rainy, so we had to take pictures inside. But they didn't seem to mind. I think part of them was hoping they could still be on break, but the other part was happy to see their friends.

Second and Sixth grade, here the come! Please treat them well.

Race ... And Sparky

Today, after my group run in the morning, I took the girls with me to a fundraiser 2 mile race. It was hot outside, but the girls were in good spirits. We knew there would be activities for the kids, so they were looking forward to it. They did a great job running, especially Sofia. After that they went to the playground, and Bella did face painting and the inflatables. Sofia, in the meantime, wandered towards the area were they had pets up for adoption and fell in love with a little dog named Sparky. She really wanted to bring him home, and begged Lionel on the phone, but he said no. So she cried and cried, and begged me some more. And even cried all the way home. She was so sad, poor thing. But eventually calmed down, and later in the afternoon was in good spirits again. 

Last Creamy Whip Stop

Today was our last Creamy Whip stop before the end of vacation. It is hard to believe, but summer vacation is basically over.
