Sep 22,
This weekend Lionel and I went to Colorado to attend Isabel’s wedding, who was the girls nanny for 4 summers. Unfortunately the girls were not invited, as they were trying not to make their wedding unmanageable big, but we still got to see our Sofifi. Only for lunch, but it was better than nothing. We went to The Buff, which is a classic spot.
After lunch we drove about an hour and a half to Winter Park. As part of the wedding activities they had a couple of group hikes, which was good giving that we were in the mountains and we definitely wanted to be outdoors. Plus we got to meet some of Isabel’s current neighbors in Colorado, which are the ones we chatted with a bit given that - other than Isabel’s family - we didn’t really know anyone else.
The wedding was at the top of the mountain and the crazy weather turned quickly, getting really really cold. But the bride and groom decided to still have the ceremony outside, and just keep it short. Luckily I had my jacket with me, so I was a little cold but mostly ok. And despite the cold, the view was still beautiful.
During the pre-wedding activities I had moments where I wondered if we had made the right choice going to the wedding, given that we didn’t know anyone else, but in the end I was glad they included us and that we were there. After all, meeting Isabel’s family was the highlight of our 3 years in Anderson.
After the wedding we were driving back down to Denver on Sunday morning, but the forecast called for snow. We did get snow overnight - even though it was not even October - but it was not that much and it didn’t stick to the ground. So luckily we didn’t have any issues and safely made our way back.
