Day 38 - Progress!

After the countless hours I've spent cleaning the house, I am finally down to 3 rooms left: Our bedroom, which I have already started, the girls bedroom, and the playroom. It has been a painful exercise, but it is great to see the progress! Besides, a clutter-free house is also a stress-free one.

Day 37 - Doctor, Panera, and Ice Cream

This morning, after her swim lesson, Bella finally had her appointment with the ophthalmologist following the eye infection she had a few weeks ago. They told us it would be a long one, since they would dilate her eyes to check them out, so I asked Lionel to come with us. It was a long one indeed, but Bella was a perfect patient. She never freaked out, and cooperated the entire time. At the end of her appointment she was allowed to pick something from the "Treasure chest", so she picked a Princess tiara.

After the Doctor appointment Lionel went back to work, and Bella and I went to Panera for lunch. We then picked Sofia up from her play date at Samantha's house, and grabbed some Greater's ice cream before heading back home.

Day 36 - Sore loser

Sofia is the biggest sore loser around. Tonight, for instance, she threw the biggest tantrum because Lionel won at Scrabble and dared to celebrate (mildly, thank God) in front of her. She whined for probably 20 minutes about the fact that it was "not fair", and how everybody kept stealing her moves, and how rude it was for Lionel to celebrate in front of her, and on, and on, and on. We have talked to her about this behavior, which is super sad and frustrating at the same time, but something tells me we have a long road ahead of us.

Day 36 - Wicked sky

Tonight, as it was getting darker, the sky instead turned yellow. The pictures do not quite capture it, but it was an unusual sight. It literally looked like somebody had turned on a yellow light outside.

Day 36 - Home Office Treasures

As I continued to clean the home office today I found a few more treasures that have been randomly placed over the years. I found and old CD player and a cell phone, an insurance card from when I was a kid, and 2 photos from my parent's wedding. There aren't many of these, so they are extra special.

Day 36 - "The" Tomato

Today we discovered that one of our tomatoes finally turned red. We of course harvested it right away, and - to avoid any fights - I cut it exactly in half so the girls could share it. I hear it was good stuff.
