A couple of months after my long trip to China, today I am back at it. Heading to Berlin for a week of meetings, but at least this time around Lionel and the girls get to meet me in a few days and we then get to have a 2 week family vacation. The work part of the trip should be ok as well, but I am a little bummed to be away from Kika for 3 weeks - and it will be weird to be away from the house for that long as well, given that we are still getting used to it being our new home.

Today we picked Claire up and went to have lunch in the city. We tried this new place called Cafe Landwer in Back Bay. We liked it. After lunch we did a quick visit to the library, which is beautiful. Our parking spot was only for 2 hours, so after the library Lionel and I went home and Bella and Claire stayed at the mall to shop together. We picked them up later in the day, after Lionel had watched the Eurocup soccer games and I had done some shopping of my own.

Today Sofia and I had lunch together and then went to see Inside Out 2. Unfortunately she did not necessarily enjoy the movie as she found that Anxiety running the show was simply too stressful. She did say that she may want to see it again now that she knows the ending.

Our 4th of July was chill. Or maybe I should say that we had no fancy plans. We worked out in the morning, went to play pickle ball at the work court, had lunch out, took Kika on another joy ride, and saw fireworks. Bella hung out with some friends for the fireworks, which was totally fine by me. I was happy that she had something fun to do. Sofia and I went to see the Newton fireworks at the last minute, and on the way back we once again had a semi-private show as some people had fireworks in the park right across from our house. It was a well spent day off.
