For some odd reason, many people in the US believe that May 5 is Mexico's Independence day. It is really not, but I don't think it matters that much to them. They like to celebrate it nonetheless. So every year the kids come back from school with some craft related to it, and this year was no exception. Sofia came back with a "maraca" she made out of two paper plates and a few dry beans. Unfortunately she also decorated it by writing what - in my eyes, and the eyes of any native Spanish speaker - was a terrible grammar mistake. I know she meant well, but seriously girl?!?
