Today we drove to Munich and first stopped by the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. While we have visited a number of WWII Museums during our travels, and the American Cemetery, this is the first concentration camp we visit. I knew it wouldn’t be a happy visit, but it is so important to educate ourselves and our children. It didn’t feel appropriate to take photos of ourselves inside, so I just took a photo of the girls by the entrance - so we can all remember how old they were when they visited.
The things that happened in those places were simply horrific. And it is hard to comprehend how anyone could do that to another human being. There are probably no words to describe the suffering, and it is amazing that so many people were able to survive under those conditions. All I can say is that I hope hell is real, and that all those Nazis are burning in it for eternity.
