Yesterday I was thinking about GPS systems and their similarities with real life. You may know exactly where you are headed, but that doesn’t mean the roads will be clear for you. Sometimes you may take a few extra turns. Sometimes you may travel roads you didn’t even know were there or are by no means ideal. And sometimes you will get there in your target timing, but others - no matter how hard you try or how early you leave - you will be late. That is if it still makes sense to get there. Otherwise you’ll say “forget it”, turn around, and find yourself a new destination.
